Girl's Night Out

Amy won tickets on the radio for Erin's Slumber Party and invited Bryn and I to go for a Girl's Night Out. Even though I had a horrible head cold we had a blast and Bryn had a fun night hanging out with Sydney.

1st Day of School-Trevin

Here is a picture of Trevin on his first day of 6th grade. I can't believe how time flies. Trevin was lucky to be able to get the same teacher as he had last year so we know he is going to do really well this year.

The Kids

Here is a picture of all my amazing kids on their first day of school. They all had an amazing year last year at their new school and I hope this year brings bigger and better things for them.

1st Day of School-McKade

Today McKade started 4th grade. A new teacher, a new year but some of the same friends. He was so excited to have one his really good friends Sydnee in his class again this year. In the last 6 years there have only been 2 years when they weren't in the same class together.

1st Day of School-Brynlee

Today is the day that my baby girl started 1st grade. I have been dreading this day for a while. It was hard for me to be sad when I saw how excited she was to be able to spend the whole day at school and eat lunch with her friends!!! Doesn't she look so cute in that uniform?

Hip Hop Tryouts

Today Brynlee had tryouts for the hip hop team at Synergy. I was a little nervous because she is one of the youngest girls that tried out. I was worried they may not have a place for her. After waiting all day for the results we found out she made the Nitro team and that her and Erin will get to be on the same team for hip hop this year. Congrats baby girl!!

McKade

Tonight was the final night of football try-outs. Because Brett is coaching Trevin's team we already knew what team he would be on. McKade spent a grueling week showing all the coaches what he was made of. We did put a little pressure on him saying how our life we be so much easier if he made the "A" team because then they would both play their games at the same places just at different times. They split the "A" team off first and McKade wasn't in that group. My heart broke when I looked over and saw him sitting there with his head hung low. He came over to get a drink and we told him how proud we were of him and that it didn't matter what team he made. They made the kids run for almost another hour while they separated the other 3 teams. They finally started pulling kids out for the "A2" team and as carefully as we had watched we didn't see them pull McKade out of the group of kids. When they finished calling names the group of kids stood up to come and tell their parents and to my surprise McKade was in the group after all. I am so proud of that boy and how hard he has worked. He is really going to have to prove himself to the coaches this year!!!!

Harlee's 1st Day of School

Today was Harlee's first real day at Preschool. The parents go with the kids for the first 30 minutes and then the teacher takes the kids off to another room and the parents leave and come back when preschool is over. Harlee was okay until they made all the kids line up. She knew exactly what was happening. As soon as she got to the other room she started crying. I stayed for about 10 minutes and she finally calmed down. She even had a smile on her face when I picked her up from school.

Meeting Her New Teacher

Today was the day that Harlee got to go and meet her teacher at Sunshine Square. Her teacher is going to be Miss Jill and I have heard wonderful things about her. Harlee was so excited but clammed right up when it came time to answer any questions and then sure enough, as soon as we walked out the door she started jabbering again. I am having some mixed emotions about having my baby start Pre-school. Sure, I will finally have some free time but I don't know if I really want that free time all to myself. I love having someone around to share my thoughts with throughout the day and I am really going to miss that.

First Day of Football

Today was officially the 1st day of Little League Football. Trevin has been waiting for this day since the day football ended last year. His dream is to play in the NFL someday and we are going to do everything in our power to make that dream come true. This is McKade's 1st year playing and I have to admit that I am more than a little nervous about it. I remember the bumps and bruises that Trevin was so proud of last year and it makes me cringe. McKade held his own at practice today and even said he had fun. I am glad they have found something they love and something they can lay in bed at night and talk about for hours.
