Brynlee thought she was being pretty funny and put Harlee in the doll stroller and was pushing her around downstairs. Harlee was giggling away so I let the games continue until Brynlee dumped her on her face and she started to cry. She kept saying "It's okay because she's strapped in". I think that made it all the worse because when she tipped over the stroller tipped on top of her. I didn't take any pics of the crash but here are some of her in the stroller.

It's a Baby in a Stroller
Brynlee thought she was being pretty funny and put Harlee in the doll stroller and was pushing her around downstairs. Harlee was giggling away so I let the games continue until Brynlee dumped her on her face and she started to cry. She kept saying "It's okay because she's strapped in". Cherry Hill 2008
This weekend we made our annual trip to Cherry Hill. By the time all was said and done the kids had a blast and the parents were worn out. The kids are already asking when we can go again. I couldn't decide on which pics so I made a slide show of my faves.

Harlee's 1st Sucker
Harlee was a little grumpy tonight and trying to follow me around the house as I was trying to get things put together for this weekend. I handed her a sucker and you would have thought I handed her the world, however, she didn't know what to do with it. She put it in her mouth and then held it in her hand and then she threw it on the ground. By this time it was totally sticky and she just started moving it back and forth from hand to hand. It kept her happy for a few minutes until I had to take it away because she was a sticky mess and then we were back to square one again.
Principal's Pride & Soaring Eagle
It's nearing the end of the school year for the boys-finally. In that last two days we have been to two different award ceremonies. One was the Principal's Pride award that Trevin received for Outstanding Citizenship in Class. The other was the Soaring Eagle award that McKade received all in thanks to his teacher for completing most of those requirements in class. Here are some pics that we took of each of the ceremonies.

Don't Stop the Music
Brynlee's dance recital was last night and this time she did it. With a little bribery (the promise of a toy) and some reassurance, she danced her little heart out last night and even smiled a little bit. Her recital was at the Gallivan Center and it was hot last night. I complained about being in Show #2 which was the later show but it actually worked to our benefit. We arrived right before the 1st show started because I hoped that would help to comfort some of Bryn's fear of being on stage and it was a good thing because Brett ended up having to go back for the camera battery (thanks Denice). All in all it turned out awesome and I am so proud of her for working so hard this year. They did a tap dance to Little Baby Bumblebee-hence the bumblebee costume-and the girls were so cute. Thanks to Haeli, her awesome teacher, who was so patient with her-sometimes having to hold her hand while teaching class. I can't wait to see how much she can grow and learn next year.
It's Finally Summertime!!!
It's finally here and the kids couldn't be happier and I think it's because summertime makes me really happy too. They couldn't wait to get out into the water. With them still being in school it has been kind of hard to do anything during the week so I promised them water and lots of it on Saturday. Trevin was up at 7:00 wanting Brett to put up the waterslide. Apparently the neighbor boys were ready at 9:00 and their mom nixed on that one too. I didn't get any pictures of them on the waterslide in the back (duh) but here are some of them running through the sprinklers in the front yard.

Mommy's Little Helper
This is Harlee's new trick. She pulls herself up on the dishwasher so she can help with the dishes. I wish!!! I don't know that she will every really crawl. She still does what we call the worm-all over the place. That girl can move. She tries to crawl-and she can-but I think she realizes that she has gotten so good at the worm that she can move faster that way. She is now pulling herself up to everything but is not very brave so it may still be a while before she actually walks.

Happy Father's Day
We celebrated Father's Day today with yet another busy day. Our holidays always seem to be crazier than any other days of the year. We started out with a trip to Church which was cut short so we could make it to Pa and Joanie's house for a very yummy breakfast. Thank you dad for being you and supporting our family whenever we have needed you. We ended up outside with an impromptu game of baseball followed up by a trip down the Jordan River Parkway to feed the ducks. Thank goodness the weather was finally nice enough to get out. We then made the trek to Denice's house for a BBQ and then home. Happy Father's Day Brett! Thank you for being the father and the husband that you are. I know that the kids will see your example of hard work and be better people for it themselves. Your example and your love will live on in them! We Love You!!!!
The Bees Game
We were able to attend the Bees Game last night (thanks Denice). Let's just say that Brynlee won't be doing that again for a while!! The boys had a blast and all Trevin could keep asking today was "What number is Tim Duff?-you know-the one that hit those two home runs?" They were glued to their seats and the action on the field. It was a perfect night for baseball and after several visits to the restroom (thanks Brynlee) and a very long wait in line for a box of popcorn, I was able to enjoy the game as well. They ended the night with a firework show. Harlee was hypnotized by the lights but Brynlee was terrified out of her mind and spent the whole show buried under her jacket on Denice's lap screaming her head off. Oh well! Maybe next time!!

We Went to the Animal Fair
....the birds and the beasts were there. You know the rest of the song.
We attended the Animal Fair of the 1st grade class of Miss Dalgleish . I was totally blown away by the work that the kids had done. They were of the 6th grade caliber and they were so proud of themselves. They had to present their animals to parents individually and then we were allowed to ask them questions about their animals. McKade beamed from ear to ear the whole time and he wasn't the only one. My little boy is growing up and so much so this year. Thanks Miss Dalgleish for turning my shy little boy into a very confident young man.

The Project
Let's keep in mind now that McKade is 7 years old and he is in the 1st grade. About 6 weeks ago he started bringing home homework assignments to put together information for a research paper. Yes, you heard it, a research paper in 1st grade. Luckily it was just about an animal. McKade's animal is the Camel. We started piecing this together and then the fun began. The whole project will be completed on Friday, June 13 topped off by an Animal Fair that night so the kids can show off their hard work-or their parents hard work in most cases. On Monday he brought home a paper asking us to complete a science experiment about his animal. We chose to show how long a camel can survive without water. Okay, so that wasn't too bad. On Tuesday night he brought home another paper asking us to build a habitat for his animal which will be due on Friday and he also needed an exhibit board which had to be a certain size and had to stand up on it's own. This would need to be to school by Thursday along with anything else that he would like to put on his board. Luckily, they were putting that together at school. Thank goodness this 1st grade project is now completed because it really stressed me out. I am not sure why we didn't do this project in January when it was snowing outside and the kids didn't want to be outside everyday not stuck inside working on a research paper. Here are some photos of the finished habitat and our exhibit board. I will post more pics after the Animal Fair on Friday.
It's Finally Over!
Yes, you heard it, baseball is finally over. Don't get me wrong. I love to watch my boys play baseball and I love that they love to play baseball, but baseball in winter this year just wasn't my cup of tea because I hate to be cold. Trevin's last game was last night and it was COLD!!!! It's pretty ridiculous that we have to watch our last baseball game which was on June 11 and we had to sit outside in sweatshirts, gloves, blankets and I probably could have really used a coat. We were drinking hot chocolate just to warm our insides. That's how we should be dressed when we are camping in June not sitting in West Jordan watching a baseball game. Wouldn't you know it though, by the time closing ceremonies roll around on Monday and Tuesday next week it's supposed to top 90 degrees or more. Just our luck......
Preschool Program
Brynlee's last day of preschool was yesterday (sob, sob). The 3 year old class does a "Spring Sing" while the older kids get and actual graduation. Brynlee was as usual my little performer. If that girl doesn't win American Idol someday I will be surprised. She was up in the front of all these parents with her 6 little preschool princesses singing her heart out. I thought for sure she would freeze with a massive case of stage fright but she actually did it. Yesterday was when I really wished we had a video camera but for now the pictures will have to do.
Thank you Miss Karen for helping Brynlee grow so much this year. She has come out of her shell and worked very hard to learn to write and spell her name.

Under Construction
Sorry about the really ugly blog for the time being. I have been experimenting with it a little bit and accidentally deleted everything I had put on here. This is going to be another work in progress so be patient and check back from time to time.
