Harlee

This is how Harlee spends a lot of her time. She loves to put puzzles together.

Banner

This is the banner we made for Trevin's team to run through after half time. Actually, Trevin, McKade, Brett and their friend Daniel created this!

Parent Teacher Conference

We just finished our first parent teacher conferences of the new school year and I am happy to report that the kids are doing extremely well. Brynlee is in the top reading group in her class and her teacher is now moving her on to 2nd grade math because she has already mastered the basic math skills for 1st grade. Her teacher made sure we knew that she is an amazing child who is very well rounded. Wow! I love that girl. McKade's teacher isn't much of a talker but didn't have anything bad to report and so far McKade is pulling 3 A's and 1 A-. Can't really complain about that kid. Trevin is doing just as well. He is finally consistent about reading on grade level and is in one of the higher math groups in his grade. We were able to see the CRT scores for the end of year tests the kids took last year. They are graded on a scale of 1-4 with 1 being the worst and 4 being the highest.
Trevin got a 4 in math, 3 in Language Arts and 2 in Science. McKade got a 3 in both Math and Language Arts. I am so proud of the progress they have made and how well they are doing.

Tumbling

Harlee's tumbling class did a little show for the parents so they could get used to performing in front of a crowd. This is by far her most favorite class!

McKade

The kids had a "Grand Heroes" day at school and they were able to invite their hero to have lunch with them. Brynlee chose Denice and I wasn't there so I don't have any pictures. McKade chose me and Trevin chose no one. Apparently he is getting to old for me. McKade's class did a presentation on the water cycle and then I got to have lunch with him. What a fun day!

Hiking

We decided we had enough of sitting at home being lazy on the weekend so we headed up to the canyon to Donut Falls to take the kids hiking. They did surprisingly well, even Harlee was a trooper and only had to be carried for a little bit. The leaves are just starting to change and it was a gorgeous day, perfect for a day in the canyon.

Desert Star Playhouse

It's become sort of a tradition for my dad and Joanie to take Brett and I to Desert Star Playhouse for my birthday. We splurge on greasy food and a funny show. This year we saw, "My Big Fat Utah Wedding". It was super corny but really funny. Thanks guys!!!

Football

It was Homecoming for Copper Hills High so we decided to go and hang out with the high school crowd again. Man, did that make me feel old. I sure hope I wasn't that crazy when I was in high school. The boys went off with their friends and Brett and I were left with the girls to watch the game.

Crazy

Life has been a bit crazy lately at our house. We have two boys playing football and two girls taking dance now. This takes up every night of our week except for Friday. Harlee is really starting to love her dance class and absolutely loves her tumbling class. She is getting braver at preschool and finally told her teacher that she loved her the other day. The kids are doing very well at school and I am looking forward to their first Parent Teacher Conferences next week. Brynlee is loving being at school all day long. She is really learning to love to read. She walks in the door and picks up a book and will read until I make her put it down. She does the same at night. A girl after my own heart. Trevin got a 92% on his first math test and McKade is doing well as usual. I am enjoying my one on one time with Harlee and a few moments of peace while all 4 kids are at school two days a week. I am enjoying every moment of it because they are growing up too fast and in no time these crazy days will be over.

Football

We finally made it to the 1st real game of the season. Both boys have been anticipating these games all week. Trevin's game was first and they played West Jordan. They didn't pull out a win but Trevin had fun and is still loving football. McKade's team played in the afternoon and the temperature hit 95 degrees. After a triple overtime game McKade's team lost by 6 points. Those poor boys were exhausted and out of water by the time they were done.

Harlee & Football

This is how Harlee feels about the many hours we have spent at football practice. Thank goodness for some gorgeous weather tonight.

McKade's 1st Game

Today was the first football game of the season. They were mostly just practice games. The team Trevin was supposed to play backed out two days before the game so we ended up with just one game. McKade's team played Juan Diego and they won. McKade needs a little practice but he is having fun and loving football.

Crazy Weather

I complain and complain about the crazy weather we have to put up with here in Utah and here is just another testament to my complaints. Hail-in August. We woke up one morning to this. It had hailed so hard it looked like snow. By the time I snapped this picture most of it had melted.

Harlee's 1st Day of Dance

This little girl has been bugging me for months to take a dance class. I had planned on signing her up in the summer but then we got the bad news about our dance studio and I spent all my spare time just trying to find another dance studio. It was still crazy chaos and I was just worried about getting Brynlee settled and on her new team. Now that the Fall classes have started at Synergy it's finally Harlee's turn. It worked out great that both girls have dance at the same time on Monday nights so I get to kill two birds with one stone. She went right into class but I could still tell she was a little unsure. Hopefully she will learn to love it in time!
