Last year we grew 5 very large pumpkins in our backyard so our tradition of going to the pumpkin patch got pushed aside. This year after several attempts and several pumpkin plants we ended up having to go to the pumpkin patch. We had 4 pumpkins but they all died back in September. Today was a cool but sunny day so we decided it would be a perfect day. I had seen a little pumpkin patch on Redwood Road the other night when I was taking Bryn to Riverton High School and there was nobody there. I am glad we decided to go back there. When we drove past our old pumpkin patch right next to the kids school there were at least 40 people waiting in line to pay and another 40 or so walking around picking out pumpkins. When we got to the pumpkin patch there were 3 cars in the parking lot. The best part about this one was that they didn't charge by the pound just by small medium or large. We got 7 pretty good sized pumpkins for a whopping $15. What a deal! Hopefully it sticks around because we are planning on going back next year.

Pumpkin Patch
Last year we grew 5 very large pumpkins in our backyard so our tradition of going to the pumpkin patch got pushed aside. Soccer
Thank goodness for Pa and his awesome camera. This morning we had 9 am Tumbling, 9 am Soccer and 9 am Football and there are only 2 adults. Terra was going to take and pick up from tumbling this morning but in the middle of the night Bryn got a fever so I decided not to send her to tumbling. That created a whole new dilemma in itself. Now I had a sick little girl who I could not take out into the morning cold. I decided that we would park as close as possible so I could try and watch the game and at least keep an eye on McKade. Luckily Pa showed up to take pictures so McKade didn't have to play alone with no support on the sideline. He is so patient with us-he has to be!!!

Riverton High Silverline Drill Team Camp
Brynlee and Erin had the opportunity to attend a Drill Team Camp put on by the Riverton High School Silverline Drill Team. One of the girls from their dance studio is on the Drill Team and they were doing this as a fundraiser. They went on Wednesday and Thursday night for two hours each night and learned this dance. They got to perform it at halftime at the Football game against Taylorsville tonight. Bryn and Erin were awesome. I love the passion that they both have for dancing. Hanging out at the Football game tonight brought back a lot of memories from high school. Brett reminded me that in not too many years we would be doing it every Friday night. I can't wait.
A Day of Cooking
I know, I know. I am not a baker. I do cook but I don't love to bake. McKade had a family project for school and one of the things we chose to do was to find an Autumn recipe and cook it with your family and then share the recipe with the class. I had a recipe for Pumpkin Bars that I have been wanting to try out forever. Since I was going to already be making those I decided to make caramel apples, caramel popcorn and make a soup that I have been wanting to try out as well. I was a cooking day at our house. I made Chicken Taco Soup for dinner-the kids hated it but Brett and I loved it. The caramel popcorn was awesome. We haven't tried the pumpkin bars or the caramel apples yet-those are for tomorrow. It was a fun day and everyone said that I should do it more often.

Another Year
Another year and here I am another year older. I always dread this day but once it gets here it's not so bad after all, however, I am glad that it's over. As previously mentioned my dad and Joanie surprised us with a trip to Desert Star Playhouse. I also got tickets for Odyssey Dance Theater's "Thriller". I have wanted to go every year but for some reason or another it just never happened. This year it is and I am so excited. Brett even said he would go with me. It was a nice relaxing day-I got to put my PJ's back on at 4:00. What more can you ask for?

Desert Star Playhouse
My dad called me up on Saturday afternoon to ask if we had any plans for that evening. We did already have a babysitter but not really any plans set yet. He said he had gotten tickets to see "Snooty and the Beast" at Desert Star Playhouse. Neither Brett or I had ever been so I was super excited. We had dinner right at our table while we watched the play. It was hysterical and my dad and Joanie are a blast to hang out with. Nothing better than spilled drinks and a stolen car to top off the night. Thanks dad and Joanie-we love you guys!!!

Pumpkin Painting Festival
The kids were out for UEA on Thursday and Friday and we stayed in the house all day on Thursday. Both the kids and I were ready to go stir crazy. I heard about a Pumpkin Painting Festival at The Gateway and the best part was that it was FREE!!! We headed down a little early hoping to beat the crowd. The kids painted their pumpkins and then danced a little with Radio Disney. It was a beautiful fall day out and it was so nice to get them out of the house.
