We haven't had a chance to go and watch the girls from our studio compete their solos this year. Since the competition was so close we decided to take the girls and watch them this time. They had so much fun hanging out with all their friends. The older girls from our studio are amazing and spend so much time taking care of the little ones and making sure they are entertained. Brynlee hasn't said too much about doing a solo yet and I hope that is the case for at least a couple more years.

Spanish Fork Dance Competition
Our girls had a dance competition in Spanish Fork this weekend. Because of baseball, Brett and the boys weren't able to make it to this one. Our girls did great and we walked away with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish. The girls are looking better and better each time. Brynlee is loving being able to spend all this time with Erin and her new friends on the dance team. We laughed and giggled a lot this weekend but I was worn out at the end of the day. Looking forward to Stars North Region competition next weekend.

Girl's Night
We had a dance competition this weekend in Spanish Fork. Knowing that we would probably have to be there pretty early in the morning, Terra and I opted to share a hotel room and stay over Friday night. We ended up with adjoining rooms with one of the girls on Erin's team and her mom too. Her mom brought stuff to "bling" up their flip flops and turned it into a PJ Party/Craft Night. Too bad the people underneath us didn't like our party. We got a phone call telling us to be quiet and then someone pounded on our floor from underneath us. Oh well-we had fun anyway.

Brynlee's Oral Report
For their final project in school Brynlee had to choose an animal and learn everything about it and then make a poster with all the information and present it to the class. She chose a Bluebird. I helped her a little with the research and finding the pictures but she wrote everything and put it on the poster. She presented it to her class and did an awesome job. She is still very shy but she did great.

Brett's Trip to Chicago
Thanks to Brett's company, he was able to take a trip to Chicago for a work meeting. A couple of month's ago his department won a contest and had some money they had to spend as a group. Brett's life long dream was to see the Cubs play at Wrigley Field so he jumped at the opportunity. They were able to get some amazing tickets and Brett got to see the Cubs play the Florida Marlins at Wrigley Field. Let me just say I was more than jealous and hopefully one day we will be able to go back. He said it was one of the best experiences of his life and his dream has finally been fulfilled.

May's Happenings
I just realized that it's the 10th of May and I have yet to post for the month. Let's just say that life's activities have been ever consuming. Between baseball, dance, homework and me working things have been so crazy around here. We spent last week freezing our tushes off at the baseball field two nights in a row. We had to dig out the turtlenecks and pull the coats back out of the closets to watch a baseball game in May. Even with the gloves and the quilts we were still freezing. School is winding down for the year and I can't even tell you how much I am looking forward to a break from the homework every night. Brynlee and I are heading out this weekend to Spanish Fork for another dance competition and then we have Regionals next weekend and then on to National's from there. Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day. I was able to do some shopping on Saturday afternoon and Brett and the kids surprised me with flowers and a gift certificate for a pedicure that I get to enjoy on Friday afternoon before our girl's weekend in Spanish Fork. The kids brought me breakfast in bed and then we spent the afternoon at the Park enjoying some gorgeous weather-finally. Don't worry though-the nice weather was short lived because it rained all day today and it's expected to rain all day tomorrow too. We topped the evening off with dinner with Brett's family. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a mom. I have some pretty amazing kids who are very smart, talented and fun. Happy Mother's Day to all those moms out there!
